Lorry loses steel beam

Motorists faced disruption on Monday afternoon after a lorry shed a steel beam on the M9.

The accident happened on the motorway, just 100 yards south of the Keir Roundabout, shortly after 1pm.

Traffic leaving Dunblane and Bridge of Allan was affected with one lane closed while police dealt with the incident.

Officers arrived at the scene along with a team from Amey who managed traffic before moving the load.

Police gave advice to the driver on how to properly load a lorry and the road was fully re-opened shortly after 4pm.
