Council tospend £156kon project
Stirling Council has received £77,000 grant from the Scottish Government for a programme that will allow the public to vote on their top priorities.
The money will be matched by the council and used to consult with rural and urban communities across the Stirling area on issues and solutions important to residents.
Council planning convener, Chris Kane welcomed the cash boost to the council.
He said:“We’re delighted to be awarded £77,000 of Community Choice Funding from the Scottish Government.
“The programme known as `Your Community-Your Budget-Your Decision’ programme is about empowering our local communities so that, together, we can address the needs of locals and provide the services that really meet the needs of the Stirling area.
“Residents and community groups will play an integral role in this project and we are very much looking forward to getting started.”
