Special milestone for string group
A Stirling area string group will mark their 10th anniversary with a special concert next weekend.
Rusty Strings will perform to a packed audience of music fans at Callander Kirk Hall on Saturday, November 11 from 7.30pm.
And they will be supporting Global Sight Solutions – a charity which provides eye treatment to those living in disadvantaged countries.
Rusty Strings started out a decade ago as a few friends fiddling for fun, before developing into a larger string group – although their aim is still just to play for fun, while supporting good causes.
Bass player Dr David Huggan will be on-hand to provide more information on the charity.
Guest artists are Carla Grant, from Stirling, and Olivia Singleton. Both are from the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and are pupils of well-known local singer Kathleen MacKellar Fergusson.
The repertoire will be a mixture of light classical and Scottish music – with some comedy thrown in.
Tickets are £9 and are available from Creative in Callander, from band members or at the door.
