Seconds were too strong for Hamilton while thirds crashed to defeat

Stirling County 2nds defeated Hamilton 2nds 30-12 in BT National Reserve League Division 1 on Saturday.

The 3rds, playing in BT Caledonia League Midlands Division 2, lost heavily by 50-3 to leaders Blairgowri­e.

Both U18 teams met with success; the A team gained a 53-3 victory over West of Scotland in the Mitsubishi Shogun Conference while the B team defeated Madras 25-17 in the Mitsubishi Caledonia Tier 4 U18 League.

On Friday evening, the women’s team won 44-7 against Cartha Queen’s Park in the BT Women’s Premier League thus gaining a top four finish before the league splits in two.

Two of County’s successful women’s team have been included in the Scotland Women’s squad for a friendly with Spain on November 5 - Siobhan Cattigan and Megan Kennedy.

On Saturday Burn arer home to Kinross in the BT Casledonia­n Regiopnal Bowl quarter-final with curry being served after the game.
