Mountain volunteers to the rescue

-

Mountain rescue volunteers have been called out to two emergencies in the Stirling area.

Members of Killin Mountain Rescue Team made their way to Stob Caol, near Strathyre, on Wednesday October 25 after reports of an elderly man failing to return to the refuge he was staying at.

After searching the area volunteers eventually found the man in woods where he had taken a nasty fall and was injured.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital to recover. Mountain rescue teams were again called out last weekend – this time to an emergency on Ben Vorlich.

A lady who was walking on the hill on Sunday afternoon became ill and was unable to make her way down.

Emergency services were contacted and volunteers from Killin Mountain Rescue, with the help of the Coastguard helicopter, managed to get the lady off the hill and to safety.
