Rennie’s reprint is back on the shelves
The succesful reprint of Stirling author Rennie McOwan’s Light On Dumyat last year has seen it sequel hit the bookshelves in time for Christmas.
The White Stag Adventure, the second of four books in The Clan series, is a classic tale of adventure, friendship and courage and is based on the author’s childhood.
First published in 1980, the Clan series has been used in schools in the UK, Australia and the United States and are regarded by many children, adults and booksellers as lost Scottish classics.
Set in central Scotland, The White Stag Adventure follows the exploits of Gavin and the Stewart children in their quest to foil the plot of ruthless criminal gang intent on capturing a rare wild white stag. Captivating and beautifully written, the book will enthral the seven-11 year old audience it is aimed at.
Rowan Tree publisher and Rennie’s daughter Lesley Andrews said: “The White Stag Adventure is another gripping tale featuring the intrepid Gavin and Stewart children. There are no wands, no gadgets, just children playing outside in the great outdoors and it is this which has helped to enchant readers over the generations, both young and old.”
Rennie McOwan is a distinguished writer, broadcaster and outdoorsman who has published many books and articles. His novels and non-fiction titles have been used widely in primary and secondary schools.
