Top baroque guitar exponent

The latest in the series of afternoon concerts at St Mary’s Episcopal Church, Aberfoyle will see lute and guitar player Gordon Ferries perform on Sunday, November 19 at 3pm.

Gordon has become one of the UK’s leading exponents of baroque guitar and has worked for both television and radio and performed throughout the UK and Europe.

The programme will feature works for several varieties of guitar and lute with music from the16th century to the 19th, moving from Renaissance France, Spain and England to Italy and Scotland.

Composers will include Kapsberger (1580-1651 early baroque), Dowland (1563 -1626 renaissance) and De Visee (1655–1732).
