Sporty schools land top awards
Sportscotland mark achievements
Around 150 pupils, and staff from Stirling district gathered this week to celebrate their amazing sporting achievements.
During the event at the city’s Albert Halls on Wednesday, a total of 19 schools were awarded gold status by sportscotland for their commitment to engaging pupils in sporting activities.
An additional 22 other schools in the area achieved silver status awards and three schools bronze awards.
The council works with sportscotland to encourage the take-up of sport among young people.
Chief executive Stewart Harris told all of the recipients that they should be proud of their achievements.
He said: “Congratulations to all the staff and pupils across Stirling who have achieved this award – they should be extremely proud of this fantastic achievement.
“Not only have they put physical education and sport at the heart of their school and local community, but they have managed to do so in a way that encourages all pupils to engage in physical activity whilst having fun at the same time.”

Silver
