Top Elvis performers in tribute to ‘The King’

Two top Elvis impersonat­ors will perform some of the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s best loved hits during a show in Cowie later this month.

Johnny Lee Memphis and George Elias will treat audiences to performanc­es of The King’s very best music from three decades – the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Hits such as Suspicious Minds, All Shook Up, Hound Dog and Jailhouse Rock will feature during the show at Cowie Miners’ Welfare Social Club on Saturday January 27. And Johnny, who lives in Coalsnaugh­ton, is happy to be returning to the stage after a short post-Christmas break

He told the Observer: “I’m looking forward to it. It’s always a really good show in there [Cowie Miners’ Welfare].

“There will be a mixture of some of the more mainstream Elvis songs along with some rarer ones.

“The show will be split into four parts. I’ll be doing the 1950s stuff before George comes on and does the 1960s. Then we split the 1970s up and each do different parts.
