might have seen Brian, should please contact the family or phone the police on 101.”

A series of appeals were put out in the period immediately following his disappearance – but no sightings were reported.

John, who lives in Causewayhead with his wife Sandra, told the Observer: “He had a bit of a fallout with his partner and there was a bit of tension

beforehand but we think it had all sorted itself out before he went missing.

“He was at the house on the day but he must have left at some point.

“We’re told he ended up in the chip shop and he might have had a drink.

“The last sighting was of him chapping doors in Gallamuir Drive late at night – we think he tried one or two doors.

“His fiancée contacted the police when we hadn’t heard from him and there was a massive search of Plean.

“The dogs and helicopters were out but they couldn’t find anything.

“There’s a path at the William Simpson Homes which leads into the open fields, and we thought he’d maybe gone there.

“But that has been searched too, and door-todoor has been done.

“As a family we put up posters all over Stirling and Plean.

“We even took some down to Colchester as he has a cousin down there and we maybe thought he wanted some space – but he isn’t there.”

He explained that his son hadn’t been working due to a long-standing medical condition but, prior to him going missing, he was often seen out and about in the area.

John added: “He loves going out walking with the dogs.

“He would walk around Raploch, Causewayhead and St Ninians.

“He is very close with his family and would phone at least every week.”

John said that alarm bells were ringing within hours of his son’s disappearance as it’s extremely unlike him not to have been in touch.

He said: “He never missed birthdays, Christmases or New Years.

“He would always find a way of contacting us.

“As time goes on we’re all fearing the worst. We just want to know either way.”

Brian was born in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, but moved to Stirling as a child with dad John and grew up in Raploch.

He has two younger sisters – Kerrie and Tracy – and is described as being 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build.

He has blue eyes, short dark hair and tattoos on his knuckles.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey Y3 trainers and a black baseball cap.

Anyone with any information about Brian or his possible whereabouts are being asked to contact police on 101.
