Dunblane Fling to mark its 25th anniversar­y

This weekend the Dunblane Fling celebrates its 25th birthday.

First up is the popular Jazz Night at the Westlands Hotel tomorrow (Thursday) at 7.30pm and on Friday there is a GLOW disco for P1-P5 and P6-P7 at the Dunblane Centre.

Gaelic Parent and Child Group For children aged up to five meets on Tuesdays 10am-noon in Menstrie Parish Church Hall. The cost is £1.50. Wee County Walkers Meet on Sundays at 2pm in Dumyat Centre car park for walk with trained leaders. See www.weecountyw­alkers.wordpress.com. Menstrie UF Church Sunday worship at 10am will be conducted by Rev Jason Lingiah, continuing the stidy of 1 Timothy. There will be an opportunit­y during the month of May to contribute towards Target as well as the retiring offering for the youth work of the church. Prayer meeting and bible study will take place on Wednesday, June 6 at 10.30am in the church. The church will be open on Menstrie Gala Day on Saturday, June 9 from 10am-4pm for anyone to have a look around and meet the congregati­on. Tea and juice will be available. There are events for kids in the yurt, music and dance in the marquee, a bouncy castle and bucking bronco, loads of stalls including Stirling Gin and Fallen Brewing Company, Ashers Ice Cream, and the Rotary Crepe Tent. A stunning display of classic cars will be parked on Millrow.

The day kicks off at noon with a parade from the Railway Plaza down to the Drying Green, led 11am. T in 2 on Wednesdays from 10.30-11.30am, pop in for a cuppa and a chat. Thank you to all who supported the annual plant sale. Thanks to all who came along to the Christian Aid Soup Lunch, collected or contribute­d to door to door collection­s or took part in or donated to the sponsored walk. St Mark’s Parish Church Last was the final gathering of this session for the 121 Home Group. Today (Wednesday) the Young @ Heart meet in the small hall to Get Crafty and enjoy a cuppa afterwards. This begins at 2pm. Super Group meets tonight (Wednesday)at 6.30pm in the large hall for fun and games. Playhaven Out of School Care There is to be a prize bingo night held in aid of Playhaven on Friday, June 15 and donations from users will be most welcome. Items can be handed in to the group. Friday Club The club meets on May 25 at 2pm in the small hall at St Mark’s Church.
