Girls on song at Murrayfield
Stirling figure skaters won an impressive eight medals at the recent Murrayfield Ice Rink Open Competition.
The girls had to compete against hundreds of others from across the UK at the annual weekendlong event in Edinburgh.
The skaters are all members of Stirling New Figure Skating Club based at The PEAK and are coached by Rhiannon Scott, Gemma Chaddock and Fiona McGiff.
Rhiannon, Ice Development Officer for Active Stirling, said:“It’s great to see so many skaters who train in Stirling becoming so successful in competitions throughout the UK. There’s a lot of hard work that goes on behind the scenes and the additional ice time SNFSC has benefited from over the last six months has boosted the success of the club as a whole.” Results were as follows: Beginners age 10 - Beth Kilpatrick 2nd; beginners age 11 Robynne Hendrix 3rd; Beginners ladies age 12 and 13 - Emma Kilpatrick 3rd.
Level 1 age 12 and 13 - Bayley Thomson 1st; Monica Kerr 2nd. Level 3 ladies age 13-plus Mackenzie Thomson 2nd. Level 4 ladies age 12 and under - Emmy Pheely 2nd. Age 13 and over Joanne Turnbull 2nd.
There was also silverware for Brodie Sneddon (12), who was first in the level 5 ladies age 12 and over category at Nottingham’s Open.
