Excitement is building for Mugstock festival

- Mugdock Country Park

Colonel Mustard and The Dijon 5 have spoken of their excitement at headlining this summer’s Mugstock festival.

The event will take place in Mugdock Country Park on the weekend July 27 to 30 – and is described by organisers as a festival of music and merriment motivated by the love of bringing people together. More than 150 acts will grace the festival’s seven stages – with a mixture of genres and styles from indie, folk and reggae to pop, dub and soul. The Girobabies, Kid Canaveral and Roddy Woomble will also perform along with the likes of Glamour and the Baybes, Busker Rhymes and 100 Fables.

Headliners Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5 are described as Glasgow’s disco ball hat wearing, unicorn crowd surfing, genre hopping entertainers.

Colonel John Thomas McMustard said: “It’s great to see such a unique boutique festival growing. We missed last years, so we’re really happy to get back this year.

“There’s lots of cool things happening for families throughout the site as well as all the great bands playing.

“We know the organisers put a lot of love and attention to detail into it.

“We’re headlining the Friday night which is an amazing slot to have. We will get the party going and guarantee fun, laughter, banging tunes and lots of dancing.”

In addition to the live music there will also be a variety of entertainment including theatre, art, comedy, performance, crafts and food and drink.

The intimate festival is set in a charming, natural location with an array of natural and built heritage sites onsite.

Those who go along can take a break from the entertainment at any time and enjoy all that the park has to offer.

The festival is run by a team of enthusiastic volunteers on a not-forprofit basis, and received support from funders allowing ticket prices to remain fair.

Programming director Stuart Nelson said: “We pride ourselves on being as inclusive, accessible and family friendly as possible.

“Whether you have never been to a festival before or are a seasoned festival goer you will feel right at home at Mugstock.”

Full adult weekend tickets are priced at £65 and for teenagers and over-60s they cost £32.50. Under-12s go free.
