Bikers in gear for the trials

Big turn out for sports event in Killin

- Sports reporter

More than 150 brave bikers tackled the 13th.

Bob Macgregor Motorcycle Trials at Killin last weekend.

Participants came from the leanght and breadth of the country - including Shetland and Northern Ireland for the two day event.

There were 15 sections between the Breaclaich Dam and the Falls of Dochart with each covered four times over two days.

Saturday was particularly challenging due to rain storms making the course slippy.

Competing in four categories according to their abilities, the Falls section was very technical and challenging and watched by many spectators.

Karen Lafferty, trials secretary, thanked the committee and officials for all their hard work in making this

wonderful event possible and the prizes were presented by Maureen Macgregor, daughter of Bob, who travelled from Switzerland especially for the event.

All monies raised will be donated to local charities. Results: Expert: 1 Andrew Anderson; 2 Craig Houston; 3 Paul Sullivan. Non-Expert: 1 Robbie Weir; 2 Grant Reid; 3 Robert Lafferty.
