Celebration for Stirling’s top ladies
Stirling County teenager Evie Gallagher helped the Scotland Women’s 7s win the Amsterdam tournament last weekend.
The 17 year-old (pictured, right) who has just finished at Stirling High School, has played rugby from an early age at Bridgehaugh - originally in the same team as the boys - but is now a valuable member of the girls’ Under 18 squad which lost in the final of the Girls Club Cup at Murrayfield last month.
Evie scored two tries in the final and added another couple for the sevens squad who went through the tournament unbeaten, defeating Kazakhstan team Almaty 26-5 in the final.
Stirling County honoured ladies international Megan Kennedy ( left) with a framed set of photos celebrating her commitment to the club and in recognition of her winning her first Scotland cap this year after coming back from serious injury. Megan is seen here with her brother Reyner - who plays for County 1st XV.
