Story of piper’s upbringing
Uilleann piping star Calum Stewart will bring his trio to the Tolbooth for a special seated show next month.
Stewart will be joined on stage by Ronan Pellen on cittern and Yann Le Bozec on double bass.
They will tour their new album‘Tales from the North’which is inspired by the piper’s upbringing in the north of Scotland.
It features his own compositions and is said to be a true reflection of his powerful and expressive playing.
His recent work includes recordings with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road studios for composers Thomas Newman and Howard Shore, as well as collaborations with Nitin Sawhney and a tour with Julie Fowlis’ band.
