Charity support

Duo are thanked

- St Modan’s High

Stirling Claymores charity group would like to recognise Christie Fraser and Isabella Buckley for their wonderful efforts in supporting their charity. With support, they were the driving force in organising a Christmas fair last year that was the most successful fundraiser Stirling Claymores has ever had.

They wrote to local businesses for prizes and advertised in the local paper and radio station, they took raffles and “Guess the Elf’s birthday” to school and sold tickets to their friends, they put posters up all around the Riverside area and leafleted in the town centre.

They encouraged friends and family to help on the night and worked with the members of the club on the stalls and created their own choir.

The evening was a massive success raising nearly £900, more than enough for the club’s insurance which sees them into 2019 but also enough left over to go on a short weekend break providing some parents and carers with some much needed respite. Thanks to the girls for all their hard work and continuing support and the school recognises their achievements.

In June, 45 pupils S2 pupils were involved in a five-day trip to Paris with the Modern Languages department.

Pupils enjoyed a trip down the River Seine to see the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, a thrilling day of roller coasters and rides at Parc Astérix as well as a mesmerising day in Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios. All involved in the trip were a real credit to their families and the school.

Congratulations to Robert Bergin (S3) whose work has been selected to be showcased in the Young and Powerful Poster Exhibition. With 1535 entries to the competition this is an incredible achievement as around 80 have been selected for the exhibition.

S4-S6 Parent Briefing – September 18; Awards Ceremony – September 27.
