Op­er­atic So­ci­etyin ap­peal­for mem­bers

Stir­ling’s long­est run­ning mu­si­cal so­ci­ety is seek­ing new adult mem­bers for its next pro­duc­tion.

Stir­ling and Bridge of Al­lan Op­er­atic So­ci­ety (SABOS) is look­ing to cast new mem­bers for Calamity Jane.

The western mu­si­cal, based on the hit 1953 movie star­ring Doris Day, runs at the MacRobert Arts Cen­tre March 26–30 next year. The com­pany are hold­ing an open evening for wannabe cow girls and boys on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 10, at 7.30pm in Holy Trin­ity Church Hall, 6 Al­bert Place, Stir­ling.

So­ci­ety pres­i­dent, Carolyn John­ston said: “We’re al­ready sad­dling up for our 2019 show, Calamity Jane.

“We’re look­ing for men and women to don their Stet­sons and jump aboard the Dead­wood stage­coach, as we head out to the Wild West in search of ad­ven­ture.

“The mu­si­cal fea­tures a wagon load of great songs, from the Black Hills of Dakota and the Dead­wood Stage to Se­cret Love and The Windy City. It’s go­ing to be a whip– crack­ing show, so please pop along to our open evening to see if you’d like to be a part of it all ei­ther on stage or be­hind the scenes.”
