Op­er­atic so­ci­ety aim to lasso new cast mem­bers

Stir­ling’s long­est run­ning mu­si­cal so­ci­ety is seek­ing new adult mem­bers for its next pro­duc­tion.

Stir­ling and Bridge of Al­lan Op­er­atic So­ci­ety (SABOS) is look­ing to cast new mem­bers for Calamity Jane.

The west­ern mu­si­cal, based on the hit 1953 movie star­ring Doris Day, runs at the MacRobert Arts Cen­tre March 26-30 next year.

The com­pany have al­ready held an open meeting but are al­ways on the look­out for new mem­bers.

So­ci­ety pres­i­dent Carolyn John­ston said: “We’re al­ready sad­dling up for our 2019 show, Calamity Jane.

“We’re look­ing for men and women to don their stet­sons and jump aboard the Dead­wood stage­coach, as we head out to the Wild West in search of ad­ven­ture.

“The mu­si­cal fea­tures a wag­onload of great songs, from the Black Hills of Dakota and the Dead­wood Stage to Se­cret Love and The Windy City.

“It’s go­ing to be a whip– crack­ing show, so please get in touch to see if you’d like to be a part of it all ei­ther on stage or be­hind the scenes.”
