Spot­light on PR at con­fer­ence

Pub­lic re­la­tions gu­rus from across the UK are gath­er­ing for a spe­cial event at Stir­ling Univer­sity to mark the in­sti­tu­tion’s three decades of teach­ing and re­search­ing the sub­ject.

The ’30 Years of PR @ Stir­ling’meeting takes place on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 17 at 11.30am and will in­clude panel and round­table dis­cus­sions with lead­ing schol­ars who have played a key role in shap­ing aca­demic re­search of pub­lic re­la­tions, both at Stir­ling and be­yond.

The Univer­sity’s Dr Alenka Je­len-Sanchez and col­leagues or­gan­ised the sym­po­sium where speak­ers will ad­dress the his­tory of pub­lic re­la­tions and its place in con­tem­po­rary so­ci­eties. The evo­lu­tion of pub­lic re­la­tions at Stir­ling and how the in­sti­tu­tion’s ex­per­tise be­came fa­mous world­wide will also be dis­cussed.

Dr Je­len-Sanchez said: “Stir­ling, in par­tic­u­lar, had a sig­nif­i­cant in­flu­ence on pub­lic re­la­tions ed­u­ca­tion and re­search in the UK and be­yond.”
