Earlier in the season the Fintry side knocked EK out of the Shield but since then the fortunes of both have changed - EK’s win on Saturday took them to the top of the table while Endrick now sit in second-bottom spot.

That score remained until 32 minutes when EK’s Roddy Beaton scored a try converted by Grant Dryburgh.

The first half ended with Endrick pressing on the visitors’line and when the referee raised his arm many of the home fans thought they had scored a try but it was only a penalty which Greenock duly kicked.

He then landed two penalties on either side of a Roddy Beaton effort to make it 12-10 to the home side going into the final quarter.

EK stepped up the pressure and the lead again changed hands when Endrick were penalised close to their line and the referee awarded a penalty try. This score seemed to lift the visitors and two more tries were scored before the end.
