Community Council thank you

-

Ex-members of Riverside Community Council would like to express their sincere appreciation to those in the area who have supported them over the years.

A number of longstanding members of the council decided not to stand in the run-up to the latest community council elections.

When the results were announced last week, Riverside was one of 12 areas in which a community council could not be formed because not enough nominations were received.

Others included King’s Park and Plean.

Further elections are likely to be held next year in an attempt to try and form councils in these areas.

Ann Graham, who stood down after 15 years on Riverside Community Council, said: “The now exmembers of the community council would like to express their sincere appreciation to those in the community who have supported them over the years.

“Thanks also go to elected members and the Stirling Council community engagement team for their help and advice.”

She expressed special thanks to local volunteers, including Ann and Sandy Bain, for their “sterling” work in establishing an orchard in Riverside.

There was also a note of gratitude for Iain Gibson, caretaker of the Riverbank Centre, who has assisted with a number of projects.

“It has been a privilege to represent you over the years and we wish you all the best in the future,“added Mrs Graham.
