Stage is set for Riverside panto
Stirling’s Riverside Drama Club will be staging the panto Dick Whittington for a week in the run-up to Christmas.
The panto tells the tale of Glendon, a lovely little village which has one big problem: rats.
Cooncillor McSporran was pleased that he had a treaty with King Rat. This meant that the rats would not come into the village and eat all the grain.
However, the old King died in suspicious circumstances and his son, the new King Rat did not want to honour the treaty, so the village was once again overrun with rats.
A young man by the man of Dick Whittington, along with his cat Tam McMowser, found his way to Glendon seeking his fortune.
He met Alice, the daughter of Cooncillor McSporran, and agreed to help get rid of the rats.
Meanwhile the villagers were all going on a cruise to celebrate but the rats go with them.
Join Dick and his cat along with Alice, Dame Ella and the whole cast on a voyage of mystery and adventure.
The fun starts on Monday December 10 at 7.30pm and runs until Saturday December 15 at 3.30pm in the Cowane Centre, Cowane Street, Stirling.
Tickets are £8 adults and £6 children and can be booked by calling 07598 337795 (voicemail/text); the Albert Hall box office, 01786 473544 or club members.
