That’s two in a row for Endrick

-

Strathendrick made it two wins in a row with one of their best displays of the season on Saturday.

The Fintry side travelled to meet Cambuslang in their latest Tennent’s West League Two fixture.

They were buoyed after ending their four-match losing streak on the previous weekend at home to Cumnock.

Cambuslang took the lead against Endrick but were shocked when the Ruth Menzies outfit ran out 36-14 winners - a victory which lifts up to ninth in the 12-team table.

On Saturday, they visit Stewartry, who sit one place above them and a bonus-point win for the West Stirlingshire team would take them above their Castle Douglas-based opponents.

The club’s 2nd XV are at Lenzie 2nds in Tennent’s West Reserve League Division 2 on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Stirling County are back in Tennent’s Premiership action when they journey to the capital to face bottom side Edinburgh Accies.

The Raeburn Place side have lost all 10 of their league matches this season but they will want to break their duck against a County side which has failed to win away from Bridgehaugh this term. County will be hoping for a repeat of their 38-24 win in September.

Stirling Wolves (Stirling 2nds) are away to Hamilton 2nds in Tennent’s Reserve League 1 and on Sunday, the ladies meet Corstorphine in Tennent’s Women Premier League A. Last Sunday they lost 29-5 to Hillhead/ Jordanhill.

Last Friday night, County’s 3rd XV (Stirling Accies) and Blairgowrie braved wind and rain in a re-arranged Tennent’s Caledonia Midlands Two match at Bridgehaugh.

The unbeaten visiting league leaders had to head home to Perthshire on the end of a 17-13 defeat.
