Enjoy an authentic taste of Italy
A new restaurant and steak house in the centre of Auchterarder prides itself on bringing a little slice of Italy to the heart of Scotland.
Milano on the High Street boasts one of the most extensive wine and whisky lists anywhere in the country, and imports authentic ingredients straight from selective producers in Italy to create wonderfully tasty dishes.
Run by owner Alan Tang, general manager Tony Portella and head chef Robert Wardhaugh, the restaurant aims to bring a top dining experience to both locals and the area’s many holidaymakers.
General manager David Hastings said: “We have a very extensive wine list to cater for the area, which will be a big draw.
“We start with bottles at around £20 such as Chianti and Pinot Grigio, up to Amarone, Brunello Montalcino Biondi Santi and Barolo at £550 a bottle.
“We also have a good collection of prosecco and champagne such as Bollinger, Veuve Clicquot, Don Perignon and Louis Roederer Cristal.”
Tony added: “I have a great interest in Italian wines as I am a sommelier.
“We have very, very fine wines from small artisan producers and a few ‘superwines’ from Tuscany, which are famous all over the world.”
And for those who fancy a dram with their dish, there is over 120 different Scottish whiskies to choose from, with malts ranging from 10-year-olds to 50year-olds.
But it is not just the drinks that will entice customers in - the best ingredients from Scotland and Italy are blended together in the kitchen to create their masterpiece dishes.
