Festive farmers’ market

Stirling Farmers’ Market is in the city’s Port Street on Saturday, December 8 for the first of two preChristm­as visits.

The focus at Saturday’s market will be on the finest quality Scottish food and drink with 25 traders selling everything you need to cook up some delicious seasonal meals.

On offer will be Highland beef, award-winning pork, high welfare rose veal, Scottish fish and shellfish, wild venison and game, handmade preserves, cheeses, sourdough breads and pastries, free range hens’ and ducks’ eggs, olives and deli products, handmade preserves and home-baked cakes.

And to accompany the foodstuffs is a selection of fruit wines, ciders, craft beers, mead and gins.

Gifts include handmade soaps, jewellery and hampers while local business Garden Tamers with their popular selection of holly wreaths and decoration­s will be present.

The market will be in the Port Street precinct from 10am-4pm.
