Please leave a narrow margin of paper around the used stamp and hand them to Diana or leave them for her in McNicolls Stores. Guild Christmas Lunch The lunch for members and friends will take place at The Lion and Unicorn, Thornhill, on Tuesday, December 11 at 12.15pm. Councillor’s surgery Councillor Alistair Berrill will be in the reading room on Tuesday, December 11 at 6.45pm. Carol singing The annual gathering to sing Christmas carols at Kippen Cross (outside the Cross Keys) will take place on Monday, December 17 at 6.30pm. Collection for Stathcarro­n Hospice. All welcome. Parish Church Worship on Sunday, the second Sunday in Advent, will be at 10am and led by Rev Dr Valerie Allen. There will be a Service of Carols and Readings by the Loch at Kinlochard at 3pm on Sunday. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served the service. All welcome. Village hall Sunday, December 9 at 11am is the Festive Blethers - the usual gathering with some extras with some local vendors selling their wares. All welcome. Some tickets are still available for the Hogmanay ceilidh on December 31. Please contact the website or committee members. Candle of Hope was lit, it was good to welcome home minister the Rev Ellen Larson Davidson from her family Thanksgivi­ng in Montana, USA. On Sunday, December 9, she will be on duty, hopefully for the last time, as Interim Moderator at St Mark’s Church, Stirling. In her stead Rev Mark Evans will lead the worship. On Sunday, December 16, there is a Messy, Unrehearse­d Nativity Service when everyone, but especially children, are encouraged to bring or share some form of “dressing up”. All welcome. Members of the congregati­on and community might also note that Norrieston Church will again be supporting the Start Up Stirling Reverse Advent Calendar and calendars showing suggested items are availafter able. These will help to restock the depleted shelves in the New Year. Tea’n’Chat The last Tea’n’Chat of the year will be held on Wednesday, December 19. Playgroup Over-twos on Tuesdays 9.45-11.45am, Fridays 9.30am - noon, term time in the community hall.
