Good vibe promised at summer music festival

- Vibration Festival

Falkirk’s Callendar Park will host a live music festival for the first time in a decade next May.

The Vibration Festival – a combination of live music, street food and craft drinks – will take place on Saturday, May 25. The headline act will be announced shortly. As well as a main stage with live music, the festival will also include street performers, an acoustic stage, drinks tastings and activities for kids too. Polmont bothers David and Andy Ure are behind the event. Andy (33) said: “My brother and I grew up going to Big in Falkirk every year and it was a highlight for music lovers so we were devastated at its demise.

“It was a great festival for giving bands a huge platform to perform locally.

“We want to have local acts involved in Vibration Festival.

“Callendar Park is a stunning venue, perfect to host a large music festival since it is so centrally located for everyone in the wider Falkirk area and Central Scotland in general.

“The stage will be in front of Callendar House and we don’t think there is a better music festival setting anywhere in Scotland.”

Andy is a director of Harbro Events, the company behind Falkirk Gin Festival and The Whisky Social, while David is a consultant program manager so merging their talents together to found Fusion Concerts and put on the huge event seemed perfect.

David (39) said: “We are both huge music lovers and bringing a music festival back to Callendar Park has been something we have long discussed.

“We have been quietly working away on this for months and we are excited to finally launch it and spread the word that Vibration Festival is on it’s way.

“We need the support of local people to put on Vibration Festival and we hope to grow the festival and make it bigger and better each year. “But without support there won’t be a year two. We feel this is something Falkirk needs and we hope people buy tickets so we can grow and expand to be one of the best boutique music festivals in Scotland.”

Early bird tickets go on sale on Thursday, December 13 from Ticketline.com
