Club bowled over by bumper do­na­tion

Stir­ling Youth Ten­pin Bowl­ing Club col­lected a cheque for £210 from Club­Sport Stir­ling re­cently.

The club ap­plied to Club­Sport Stir­ling for fund­ing to pur­chase new in­door ten­pin bowl­ing equip­ment to sup­port their new project for lo­cal Stir­ling pri­mary schools.

It plans to give more pri­mary school chil­dren the op­por­tu­nity to try the sport at school with a range of taster ses­sions and after school clubs, with sup­port from ex­pe­ri­enced club mem­bers who are keen to pass on their bowl­ing knowl­edge to the younger gen­er­a­tions.

“This is a re­ally ex­cit­ing time for Stir­ling Youth Ten­pin Bowl­ing Club and the devel­op­ment of ten­pin bowls,”said Ruth Hen­der­son, Ac­tive Stir­ling’s Com­mu­nity Ac­ti­va­tion Of­fi­cer. “Since the club formed in 2002 they have been prom­i­nent on the na­tional and in­ter­na­tional stage for Scot­tish ten­pin bowl­ing, and this project will al­low their ex­pe­ri­enced mem­bers to teach their skills to the younger gen­er­a­tions at pri­mary schools.
