Medal win for busy Boys’ Brigade crew
Dunblane BB Band landed a silver medal in the regional heats of the Scottish Concert Bands Festival at Livingston.
It was part of a busy weekend for the boys who entertained festive Santa-seekers at the Bo’ness Steam Railway Santa Train specials on the Saturday before competing 24 hours later at Livingston.
Officers and boys also packed bags at Waitrose, Stirling, helping stressedout Christmas shoppers and they would like to thank everyone who made donations and Waitrose for allowing them the opportunity to raise funds for their many activities.
S2 pupils participated in a two-day interdisciplinary project to deepen their understanding of WWI. They watched the effects of chlorine gas, cracked codes, created propaganda posters and handled uniform, weapons and ordinance from the time. They were also fortunate to work again with the Argyll and Sutherland Museum and the Army who had pupils drilling and practicing their battlefield first aid. This marks the end of the school’s centenary commemorations and everyone would like to thank all partners who have supported the school over the five years of the project.
