New rail cards are just the ticket

Stirling Observer - - FRONT PAGE -

MP for Stirling Stephen Kerr has welcomed the introduction of a new 26-30 railcard.

The new card will offer those in that age group cheaper rail travel across the country on the National Rail network.

Travellers who take advantage of the card will see their rail fares cut by a third on all journeys across the United Kingdom.

There will also be a new 16-17 railcard as of September, which will allow teens to save up to 50 per cent on their journeys.

Mr Kerr said:“These announcements will make a significant difference to millions of young commuters and rail users across the country, including many in Stirling.

“No fewer than 3.3 million trips are made to and from Stirling stations every year.

“I encourage all regular rail users in this age range to take full advantage and sign up for the new card.”
