Gain bartending skills on hospitalit­y course

Aspiring hospitalit­y workers in the Forth Valley area will have the opportunit­y to gain bartending skills through a new course.

The‘Diageo Learning for Life: Bartending and Hospitalit­y’programme is a six-week course involving four weeks of classroom-style coaching as well as two weeks of workplace training.

It also includes industry recognised qualificat­ions, Diageo specific training modules, industry visits and workshops on employabil­ity and soft skills.

Graduates from the course will also receive support for 12 months after completion.

Scotland became the first country in Europe to deliver the programme in 2014, allowing young, unemployed people to access training, skills and qualificat­ions.

More than 1300 people in the UK have graduated from the programme, with 83 per cent of graduates going on to further training or employment and 78 per cent securing long-term employment.
