B&W bullocks (8) averaged 123.10p to 124.40p per kg for a 442kg HFX from Hillend, and £575 for a 470kg HFX from Hillhouse.
Heifers (39) averaged 179.36p to 203.40p per kg for a 467kg SimX from Newpark, and to £1145 for a 618kg AAX from Ledrishbeg.
Beef cows (67) averaged 130.84p to 171.10p per kg for a ContX from Nether Dalkeith, and to £1290 for a LimX from South Hill of Drip and Chartershall.

Caley Marts sold 150 cattle comprising of 72 prime bullocks, heifers and young bulls, 53 OTM cattle and 25 calves and stirks.
With a large show of heavier cattle forward, light weight types were in demand. With the bullocks weight averaging 724kg, this resulted in the overall average being back, although they topped at 250p pkg for a Limousin from A Pettigrew, Faskine, Airdrie purchased by T Connor, Butcher, Troon and to a whopping £1748 for a Limousin from S and J
E Andrew, Letter, Dunkeld purchased by Malcolm Allan Ltd, Larbert.
Heifers sold to 238p pkg twice for Limousins from D Dickinson, Brockwoodlees, Canonbie, and A Pettigrew, Faskine, Airdrie, purchased by HA Black and Sons, Butcher, Stirling and R Brown and Son, Butcher, Stenhousemuir respectively and to £1575 from Brockwoodlees, again purchased by HA Black and Son.

The overall average levelled out at 127p pkg including feeding OTMs. OTM males sold to 168p for a Limousin from HA Brown, Molemount, Galston and to £1660 for a Limousin from RA Campbell and Sons, Meikle Seggie, Milnathort. Dairy cows averaged 103p selling to 133p from R Denholm and Son, Wester Lochdrum, Bonnybridge and to £970 from the same home.
Other leading prices: Beef OTMs per kg - 159p Salterhill; 144p Lammerview; 143p Letter. Beef OTMs per head - £1160 Lammerview; £1080 Salterhill (twice).
Dairy cows per kg - 124p Wharlawhill; 119p Harvieston; 108p Ardgate. Dairy cows per head - £920 Harvieston; £870 North Medrox; £860 Ardgate.
Also forward were 25 weaned calves and stirks at the fortnightly sale. Strong beef bred calves were in demand however smaller dairy types were harder to cash. Topping the sale was a British Blue heifer calf from R Graham and Sons, Boquhan Home Farm, Kippen fetching £330.

TUESDAY, JUNE 18
Caley Marts sold 657 spring lambs, prime hoggets, ewes and tups.
Included in the sale was the show and sale of Suffolk Prime Lambs, held in conjunction with the West and Central Scotland Suffolk Club and was kindly sponsored by McCaskie Farm Supplies and Shearwell Data. The show was ably judged by Bill MacKinnon of Scotbeef. Overall average for 454 sold was 207.3p pkg (-8.4p on the week).
Prize List: Champion – J Lawrie, Tillyrie 47.6kg £104 purchased by Buffalo Farm, Boglily.
Class 1 – Suffolk Under 42kg: 1 W and E Cook, Balcachie; 2 RA Campbell and Son, Meikle Seggie. Class 2 – Suffolk 42.1kg44.9kg: 1 R Wardrop and Son, Easter Coates; 2 RA Campbell and Son, Meikle Seggie; 3 R Wardrop and Son, Easter Coates. Class 3 – Suffolk 45kg+: 1 J Lawrie, Tillyrie; 2 and 3 Bankhead Farmers, Crook of Devon.
Outwith the show, top price of the day went to D Nicol, Auchtenny for a 46kg Beltex at £115 and the same lamb topped the ppkg at 250p.

Also forward were 233 cast ewes, tups and hoggs. All classes, particularly Mules and Blackfaces would be sharper on the week, with heavier ewes also seeing a slight increase. Heavy ewes averaged £87.50 selling to £110 for a Texel from Donibee Livestock, Whitehills, Crossgates. Light ewes averaged £58.09 selling to £71 for a Cheviot from D Nicol, Auchtenny, Forgandenny. Cast tups sold to £86 for a Texel from E Forrester, Cattlemoss, Saline.
