Vegas comes to town
Scotland’s premier showband will be at the Macrobert this Saturday with a celebration of music and song in ‘One Night in Las Vegas’.
Spatz & Co will be performing songs from some of the greatest entertainers to have graced the iconic venues of Las Vegas, from the big bands of Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman to the latest from Paul Simon, Eric Clapton and The Eagles; from the standards of Sinatra and Quincy Jones to the showmanship of Elvis and Barry Manilow.
They have everything for an uplifting night of Vegas fun, including all the charm and humour.
There are nine members of the band, with Roy Mac on vocals, Gordon McNeil and Dick Lee on saxophone, Gus Andrews and Cameron Jay on trumpet, Tom Gordon on drums, Andy Mitchell on string bass, Malcolm MacFarlane on guitar and Iain Mathieson on keyboard.
Many members of the band are multi instrumentalists and showcase this throughout the show, with appearances on the flute, clarinet, flugel horn and piano for an all-round Vegas feel.
With many years’ experience between the band members, individuals have shared the stage with Billy Connolly, performed on BBC Radio Broadcasts, composed an award-winning suite commissioned for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, worked on London West End Theatre productions and much more.
Tickets for ‘One Night in Las Vegas’ are priced £18.50 and on sale now from the Macrobert box office on 01786 466666, macrobertartscentre.org or by visiting in person from 10am.
