Blockage forces temporary closure
A popular skate park in Dunblane has been temporarily closed due to blocked drains.
Stirling Council shut the Laighhills attraction to for work to solve drainage issues which have affected the park for a number of weeks.
The skate park was opened in May 2007 after residents raised £148,000 for the project. Young people contributed £8000.
Dunblane and Bridge of Allan Councillor Alastair Majury contacted Stirling Council about the condition of the park after being made aware of the drainage issue by residents.
Attempts were to made to clear the blockage but they were only partially successfully.
An electronic survey was carried out and excavations of the drainage soakaway are to take place soon.
Councillor Majury commented: “I am thankful to those in the community who alerted me to this issue, and for the actions that the council has and is undertaking in order to bring this important asset back into use.

A spokesperson for Stirling Council said: “After being informed of a build-up of water in a section of the skatepark by a member of the public, the council fenced off the affected area for safety reasons
