The stopover at Thistles takes place from 10am until 4pm on Saturday and from 11am until 4pm the following day.

It’s part of a nationwide tour that aims to promote the trophy and Hampden Football Museum.

The tour aims to re-kindle fans’own Scottish Cup memories, and get their picture taken with the prestigious trophy.

By posting their pictures online with the #ScottishCupTour, and taking part in an Instagram trivia quiz which goes live during each leg of the tour, fans are given the chance to win a pair of tickets to the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final.

The tour also includes a small example of the Hampden Football Museum, with a showcase of items from Scottish football history, relevant to each location.

Thistles centre director Gary Turnbull said:“The Scottish Cup trophy is the oldest national trophy and also the oldest association football trophy in the world, retaining the same silverware since its launch in the 19th century. The greatest triumphs in the game’s history are immortalised on it.

“Thistles is delighted to be hosting the William Hill Scottish Cup tour and we would encourage football fans, and indeed everyone interested is seeing such an iconic piece of Scottish history up close, to join us. Remember to bring your smart phone or camera.”
