Skate stars’ festive gala show

-

Young skaters from Active Stirling’s Skate UK programme are in the final weeks of rehearsals for their Skate UK Mini Christmas Gala.

The gala takes place on Saturday and Sunday, December14 and 15 at The PEAK ice rink.

Now in its fourth year Active Stirling’s Skate UK and Skate Star’s annual Mini Christmas Gala will include performances ranging from absolute beginner level, up to NISA level 1 standard with skaters aged 5-16 years.

Guest skaters from Stirling New Figure Skating Club will also be performing on the day, many of whom began skating in Active Stirling’s Skate UK programme and now compete at open competition all over the UK.

Skaters have worked hard over the last two months to put together their Christmas themed routines which aim to showcase some of the skills they have developed during the course of their lessons.

Gary Mackintosh, Active Stirling’s programme development manager said:“For many this will be their first performance in front of an audience on the ice. It’s an excellent opportunity for everyone in the Skate UK programme to have fun working together and show off the skills they’ve learned throughout the year. This is our fourth year of this successful show and we hope all enjoy watching this annual event for our skaters to showcase their skills.”

Spectators are invited to come and support our skaters as they show off their skills.

Performance times are as follows: Saturday December 14 -1.25pm, 2.35pm, 3.50pm; Sunday December 15, 11.25am and 12.35pm. There is free entry for spectators.
