FADS PANTO

-

Don’t look behind you but it’s almost panto season in Fintry again.

The award-winning Fintry Amateur Dramatic Society have high expectations about this year’s pantomime production of Mother Goose.

This is the first time FADS have produced this show – and there have been laughs all the way through rehearsals.

There are a number of new faces in the 34-strong cast and chorus and the music is full of popular, upbeat numbers.

“We are really enjoying the rehearsals and we can’t wait till the audience meet our hilarious new dame,” said panto director David Smith.

“Gavin Paterson is a massively experienced actor and dame performer and has so many clever tricks up his sleeve. Gavin also wrote the script and fully understands all the nuances of a good classic panto.”

Tickets are already 80 per cent sold and the last ones are only available online by searching for Fintry Drama.

The story revolves around Mother Goose, a ‘larger-thanlife, cheeky, happy old bird’.

But she’s fallen behind on her rent and is about to be evicted by her landlord, the nasty Baron. Then along comes Priscilla, a goose who can lay golden eggs, and Mother Goose’s fortunes are instantly reversed.

However, things take a sinister turn with the arrival of the evil Nocturno, who offers Mother Goose the one thing she’s always wanted – beauty. In order to be transformed, she must give up the goose that lays the golden eggs. What will she do?

In the leading roles are: Gavin Patterson as Mother Goose and simple son Simon played by Andy Barr; his girlfriend Dotty performed by Anna Foran; young heroes Jack played by Laura

Paterson and Maddie Gray as Jill; non-too bright broker’s men Peely and Wally played by Jeannie Woodburn and Gerry Eckersley; the tight-fisted Baron is Nigel Pope; cool but evil Nocturno is Jonny
