SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCE

Classes are held on Wednesdays in the Memorial Hall from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. For more details telephone Allan at 01877 385236. Fun and gentle exercise. All welcome.

CONCERT

Next in the series of concerts at St Mary’s is on Sunday, November 17 at 3pm. Pistons and Pipes with a Soprano and Drums features Sally Carr (soprano), Calum Robertson (organ and clarinet), Christophe­r Roberts (trumpet) and Thomas Lowe (baroque drums). They will be playing an interestin­g and varied programme including music by Boyce, Handel and Burgon. Retiral collection.

CHURCH CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

The date this year is Saturday, November 23 in the Forth Inn annexe from 10am to 4pm. Donations of unwanted gifts will be gratefully received as will donations of baking and other Christmas fare. Setting up is on Friday, November 22 from 10.30am when suitable items can be handed in. Please come along and support the event.

LODGE BAILIE NICOL JARVIE NO 1036

A regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 19 at 8pm. This is a business only meeting and nomination of office bearers for 2020.

PARISH CHURCH

Service on Sunday will be at the usual time of 11.15am with worship being conducted by the Rev Dr Valerie Allen. On Sunday, November 24, the service will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion. People are asked to note that this is a week earlier than the usual Communion calendar. All welcome.

GUILD

The Guild meets on Monday, November 18 at 2pm in Church House. This meeting will include a Christmas wreath workshop led by Margaret Campbell. All welcome.

SENIOR CITIZENS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER

The annual dinner is being held at the Rob Roy Motel on Monday, December 9 at 6pm for 6.30pm. Transport can be arranged. Anyone requiring transport please contact a member of Strathard Community Council. Where possible organisers will arrange for home uplifts, however there will be the following uplift points Kinlochard, Limecraig Avenue, Manse Road, The Garage all at 5.30pm.

TEA AND TUNES

The Tea and Tunes group is part of the Bring People Together programme run by national volunteeri­ng charity, Royal Voluntary Service. It takes place fortnightl­y on Wednesdays from 2-4pm in the common room at Strathendr­ick Care Home, Lomond Terrace. Anyone is welcome to come along and sing favourite tunes. SENIOR CITIZENS’ CHRISTMAS LUNCH

This year’s lunch will be held on Wednesday, December 4 at Culcreuch Castle. Please give names to any committee member or Balfron Library buses will leave the village at 12.15pm.

STRATHENDR­ICK FILM SOCIETY

Tonight (Friday), the film showing at Balfron High School’s theatre at 7.30pm is the multi award winning film Cabaret (15), winner of seven Academy Awards, two BAFTAs and three Golden Globes. Cabaret brings 1931 Berlin to life inside and outside the Kit Kat Klub. There, starry eyed American Sally Bowles (Liza Minnelli) and impish MC (Joel Grey) sound the call for decadent fun. All welcome, bring your friends and help yourself to chocs before the film.

FAYRE THANKS

The committee of West Stirlingsh­ire Friends of Strathcarr­on Hospice would like to thank all who attended and contribute­d to making their Christmas Fayre in Balfron a great success, where the grand total of £3300 was raised.

HOGMANAY PARTY

After last years successful evening West Stirlingsh­ire Friends of Strathcarr­on Hospice are once more holding their hogmanay party in the McLintock Hall from 9pm until 1am on December 31.
