Christopher Macdonald went nap, grabbing an impressive five-goal haul, including a first-half hat-trick which came after Viewfield shocked Doune within seconds of kick-off.

The visitors on a free-kick near the Doune penalty area and the shot deflected off the defensive wall to beat Callum Davison.

The goal stunned Castle and there was 20 minutes on the clock before they drew level. David Innes released Chris Macdonald and he angled the ball home with an assured finish for 1-1.

Goal number four came from Inglis who latched on to a ball from Andy Mann and Macdonald completed his hat-trick after 35 minutes when Callum Kerr linked with him before the striker drew the keeper and clipped home at the near post for a 5-1 interval lead.

David Innes made it 6-1 on 53 minutes with a fortunate goal; he clearly intended a cross to the back post but miscued his effort and watched bemused as the ball flew past the Viewfield keeper.

Andrew Gibson struck the bar with a fine strike from 20 yards before Chris Macdonald made it 7-1 after 67 minutes and the striker capped an outstanding individual display with the final goal after 78 minutes.
