“One of the most important things that an MP can do is to help individual constituents with the issues that they have. Since 2017 my office has dealt with over 15,000 cases. Many people contact their MP as a last resort and doing everything possible to support them must always be a priority.

“There are so many different issues but here are few that come to mind.

“There was the complex case of a mum who had a problem with getting child maintenance payments from her ex-husband and I helped to get the money she was due.

“I also think about the father who sought justice for his murdered son in another country who needed their MP to intervene with both Governments. The perpetrators have finally been brought to justice.

“I think about the vulnerable, elderly woman who has been plagued by anti-social behaviour in her neighbourhood and a family in homeless accommodation who needed support to get a permanent home.

“There are many thousands of people who have written to me with questions, their thoughts and their views, they are all appreciated.

“These are real people with real problems they bring to you. They are frontline of being an MP. You take these cases, whatever the issue, and do everything you can to help them. Whether it is the Council, private companies Scottish or UK Government ministers and services I have been relentless in pursuing them.

“A good MP rolls up their sleeves and gets stuck in. People expect their MP to act when help is sought no matter who might be involved.

“I am grateful for the many endorsements received, including from community groups, from those who see the advantage in having a hardworking local Member of Parliament.

“I will always put constituents’issues first and use any influence the office of MP has to try and get their issues resolved.”
