Conservative Stephen Kerr: “Nicola Sturgeon is determined to push her independence referendum obsession. This is a very real threat to our economy and stability. Jeremy Corbyn has repeatedly said he would let the SNP have their way to get their support. We simply cannot afford either of them to succeed. They must be stopped.

“Our country has suffered stagnation and indecision at a time when crucial services, the economy and environment all demand attention. Not only are we faced with their disaster of ‘Indyref2’ but more delay over Brexit and a concerted effort to ignore the UK wide democratic decision to leave the EU.

“This deliberate flouting of referendum results is at the core of the problem. Surely, we must respect the results, whatever one may feel personally, that were taken. We clearly said ‘No’ to breaking up the United Kingdom in 2014 and there was a clear decision to leave the EU in 2016.

“We must move on. We have a deal that can be voted through parliament. I ask for your support to help do that and say no to Nicola Sturgeon.

“There are also many local issues and many constituents who need a hardworking, local MP. Someone who will continue to campaign and support individuals with their problems.

“The much talked about ‘City-Region Deal has to deliver for communities across the whole area.

“We are still faced with the threat of Scottish Government supported greenbelt development at Park of Keir. The damaging link road is still planned to proceed, and many people still suffer from inadequate broadband thanks to botched SNP plans.

“It is a privilege to serve as the Member of Parliament for this wonderful constituency of Stirling, a place that has been my home for nearly forty years. With your support I hope that I may continue to do so.
