You’re doing a first-class job this Christmas

-

Staff at the Royal Mail sorting office in Stirling have been saluted for their work in the run up to the busy Christmas period.

Mid Scotland and Fife Tory MSP, Alexander Stewart, paid an early visit to the Royal Mail office in Whitehouse Road, on Monday.

Following the visit he said:“I received a very warm and friendly welcome by all and it was a genuine privilege to have met the excellent team there and to have viewed at first hand as to just how much the volume of mail increases at this time of year.

“Many of this team are the diligent, customerfacing people who also deal with visiting customers on a daily basis, to collect parcels and packages as well as answering questions and assisting with all kinds of helpful information.

“It’s right also to take this opportunity to pay tribute to everyone’s hard work and diligence, both at Royal Mail Stirling and in all their offices across Scotland and the United Kingdom as a whole.

“I also paid tribute to them for the truly phenomenal way that all the teams there dealt with all the enormous increase in volume of mail which was put on them by the General Election. The exponential increase in literature and packages to and from all parties, as well as everyone’s postal votes literally doubled their workload on top of all the Christmas mail.”
