Shops targeted in smash spree
Two Stirling city centre businesses were counting the cost after their windows were smashed over the weekend.
Police are probing both incidents. The Love Stirling Brownies cafe, in King Street, was targeted between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
A large windowpane at the front of the shop was shattered, causing about £2000 worth of damage. On Monday the broken window was replaced by a large wooden board which read ‘Ay, we’re open’ accompanied by a painted smiling face.
Mario Celiberti, who owns the cafe, reported the incident to police, and said it was the second time the shop has fallen victim to “idiots”.
