Art sale helps charity

-

An art exhibition held in Stirling has raised almost £1300 for charity Kidney Kids Scotland.

‘Twas Just Before Christmas’took place at Gallery Bloom at 4 Bellfield Road in Stirling earlier this month.

Featuring work by artists Greer Ralston and Anne Nicholson, a percentage of sales was donated to the charity.

Greer, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art, has exhibited widely in galleries across the UK. Initially a figurative painter, with work exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery in London, she is now also known for her large, striking oil paintings of flowers, particularly peonies.

Anne, who trained in graphic design, produces delicate watercolours inspired by her love of nature and the outdoors. She can often be found painting outdoors in all weathers, using river water, rain and snow to achieve the desired finish in her paintings.

Sheena Dunsmore MBE, manager of Kidney Kids Scotland, said:“We so much appreciate this support and the amount of £1283.17 will go in full to help children in Scotland with renal and urology problems.”
