COMMUNITY CONCERT

The annual community doncert was an amazing musical night. There were soloists to choirs, ukuleles to bagpipes, strings to percussion. The pupils from both St. Modan’s and its feeder primaries were a credit to their schools and their families. Thank you to all who took part as well as the support from elsewhere.

SEASONAL GREETINGS

St Modan’s High would like to wish all pupils, parents, carers and staff a blessed and holy Christmas and a Happy New Year.

RAG BAG

Stirling High Eco Club is always looking for ways to recycle and do as much as it can so jumped at the chance of having a Rag Bag Clothes Bank in the school grounds after relocation to the new school more than 10 years ago.

All Rag Bag donations are sorted and graded. Any low grade textiles are repurposed into things like cloths, carpets,

underlay and mattress linings while clothing of a quality is reused in developing nations. The school is paid by the kilogram.

The Rag Bag has been well supported by the public, earning Stirling High revenue to put back into projects which have helped the school in many ways. Over the years, the rag bag bank has enabled the school to buy lots of resources, such as class sets of calculators, PE team kits, fish for the tank, a Van der Graaf generator for science and a t-shirt printing press to reduce costs for team kits but to name a few.

Recently Stirling High opened its new community cafe which was an idea from the Community Partnership (parent council) which is used by staff and senior pupils during the week and is open to our community on Saturdays from 9am-noon. The cafe is also used for parent and carer events to support young people with life at school.

The cafe is a multi-purpose room so it was decided that to enhance this area a digital screen was bought to display not just what is going on in school but also ideal for when the area is used for meetings to show presentations as well as advertising what is going on at the weekends with Active Stirling as well as other local events.

Thanks to everyone in the community for your continued support in helping the young people of Stirling High through the Rag Bag scheme.
