BANNOCKBURN HOUSE

2019 has been an eventful year for Bannockburn House. Successful Summer and Christmas fayres brought hundreds of visitors to the house and grounds and tours ran throughout the year led by volunteer tour guides. This year Bannockburn House has also been the background for photoshoots and for two film shoots – one production for Channel 5 called “The Small Hand” will air on December 26 at 9pm and stars Douglas Henshall, known for his portrayal of detective Jimmy Perez in the series “Shetland”. The year may be coming to a close but work continues, especially for the garden team who are hard at work preparing for the installation of new polytunnels. Work will also begin in the new year on a brand new and much needed toilet block for which the Trust has just received funding. 2020 promises to be an exciting year as projects in the house and the gardens begin and the work of preserving and restoring Bannockburn House continues. On Saturday, January 25, Bannockburn House will be celebrating Burns Night with music, food and drink. A company called Production Bureau will provide an awesome external lighting display on to Bannockburn House itself and the tree in the grounds. There will also be traditional music playing throughout the evening and a buffet-style supper served from the house. Tickets will be available through the Eventbrite page soon. Bannockburn House Trust would like to thank all the volunteers who have worked so hard throughout the year to make events a success, and a huge thank you also to all supporters and funders and would like to wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
