-

Falkirk band The Shoals are part of the national youth music touring project Hit The Road which stops at the Tolbooth this Friday, December 20.

Other bands in the line-up are indie/ shoegaze band Velvet from Glasgow and The New Routines from Stonehaven.

The Shoals, occasionally perform as a five-piece, have self-organised, promoted and sold out several hometown shows, as well as one in Glasgow.

They’ve played festivals like AMP Music Festival in Armadale and are confirmed for a slot at King Tut’s New Years Revolution festival next year.

Their next single‘Cockroach’is scheduled for release on November 22.

Run by Scottish Music Centre, the Hit The Road initiative provides young musicians living in Scotland, aged 14 to 19 years old, the opportunity to learn about the live industry before embarking on a professionally managed tour.

Hit The Road aims to equip young artists with the knowledge, contacts and tools required to build a career within the modern live industry and is funded by Creative Scotland’s Youth Music Initiative (YMI) and PRS Foundation.
