Festive break for waste service

-

People across the Stirling area are being reminded that there will be temporary changes to waste and recycling collections over the festive period.

There will be no collections on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, or New Year’s Day or January 2.

Stirling Council say collections will instead take place either before or after these dates to ensure a consistent service over the festive break.

A spokesperson said:“Letters have been sent out to all of our residents, but if for any reason you did not receive one, you can download or print them from a list at https://www.stirling.gov. uk/festivebincollections.

“You can also find your collection information using your postcode.”

Standard paper, wrapping paper and gift cards should be placed in the green recycling bin, but wrapping paper or gift cards containing foil, glitter, ribbons or felt coatings are not recyclable and should be placed in the grey non-recyclable bin.

If anyone has excess cardboard during the festive period they can take it to any of the three household recycling centre. Real Christmas trees can be recycled in the garden waste skips at any of the three centres, or they can be chopped up and placed in the brown household bin.

Recycling centre festive season opening hours are as follows: Lower Polmaise - Dec 23 and 24 8.30am-5pm, Dec 25 and 26 closed, Dec 27-31 8.30am-5pm, Jan 1-2 closed, Jan 3. Last entry 4.45pm daily.
