Central AC are celebrating after it was revealed the club is to receive £14,100 of National Lottery cash thanks to sportscotland’s Direct Club Investment (DCI) funding programme.

The club, which operates across the Clackmannanshire and Stirling Council areas, will receive the money over the next four years to help them deliver increased participation opportunities in local communities. The investment forms part of a £340,000 windfall for 12 clubs across the country.

DCI is a key component of sportscotland’s commitment towards club development. The programme prioritises engaging the inactive and underrepresented, including girls and young women, people with a disability and people living in Scotland’s most disadvantaged communities.

Central will use the funding to employ a part-time club development officer who will increase club membership and develop club cohesion and infrastructure. This will support the existing club together officer role which focuses on volunteer recruitment and retention.
